Autobiography
Marian
Hanson Schlosser
It
has been said that art is the reflection of the soul. It follows,
therefore, that art is a reflection of the artist's love.
I can truly say that I have loved the arts all my life. I began
my expression of art in school at a very early age. However, it
wasn't until my children were grown that I had the time to pursue
painting and formal art courses.
I studied with a number of teachers who offered art classes. I
then attended the Emma Lake Art Camp for a number of years, where I
studied painting in a number of different mediums, as well as sculpting
and photography.
I then attended St. Peter's College (an extension division of the
University of Saskatchewan) for two years, where I studied Art and Art
History. I tremendously enjoyed the two years, and graduated with
number of honours.
I have had the pleasure of teaching a number of classroom art classes
as well as private classes.
I find art a pleasure and a challenge which I intend to pursue.
Living in the Precambrian Shield area of Saskatchewan is an inspiration
for any artist. The scenery is splendid and the number of birds
and animals offer unlimited challenges.
